The oral health summit awards

A number of awards will be presented at the OHS:

The Sir Wilfred Fish Research Prize Competition

The Sir Wilfred Fish Research Prize, instituted in 1970, is awarded annually by the British Society of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry, with the object of encouraging researchers in the early stages of their career. The Prize takes the form of a cash award of £1000 together with a certificate (the prize may be split if there is more than one winner).  Entries must be submitted by 27 October 2025 and a maximum of four participants will be asked to present their work on the afternoon of Thursday 27 November 2025.  

The winner will be awarded during the main Conference and asked to present their work on Saturday 29 November.

Systematic Review Prize

The Systematic Review Prize, instituted in 2018, is awarded annually by the British Society of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry, with the object of encouraging researchers in the early stages of their career. The Prize takes the form of a cash award of £1000 together with a certificate (the prize may be split if there is more than one winner). Shortlisted entries will be displayed at The Oral Health Summit 2025. 

Both prizes are open to members and non-members of the Society and to international competition.

Poster Prize Competition

There will be a BSP Poster Prize competition with two categories, Research and Clinical Case Report.

All entrants must be BSP Members and will be expected to register for the Conference. Shortlisted entries will be displayed at The Oral Health Summit 2025

The prizes each take the form of a cash award of £500 together with a certificate.  In the event of the award for the Research or Clinical Case Report being presented to joint winners, the prize money will be shared equally.
