| This 30-minute EpiPen® update session is designed for Pharmacy Technicians working in pharmacy settings. The aim is to provide you with education, anaphylaxis awareness, correct EpiPen® administration technique, where to find patient support resources, understand the key information that should be communicated to patients and when to refer queries to the pharmacist. The aim is to provide pharmacy teams with information to support patients prescribed EpiPen® auto injectors. Learning objectives The role of EpiPen® in the emergency treatment of anaphylaxis Describe the correct administration technique for EpiPen® Reinforce the importance of carrying two EpiPen® auto-injectors Understand the weight-based categorisation of EpiPen® and EpiPen® Jnr to support appropriate, dispensing and patient education Support counselling points to support patients, parents and carers Signpost patients to appropriate educational and support resources Learning outcomes Following the update, participants will be able to confidently support patients prescribed EpiPen® where appropriate and within their scope of license, reinforce correct usage, promote preparedness for anaphylactic emergencies and provide consistent education on device management and patient support.
