LETITIA ADAMAH-MILES

Letitia began her career as an Assistant Practitioner in 2009 at the North London Breast Screening Service. Eager to advance her expertise, she pursued a degree in Radiography and completed her Postgraduate Certificate in Mammography in 2014 while working at the West of London BSS.  In 2018, Letitia joined the South West London BSS as Deputy Superintendent Radiographer and soon qualified as a clinical trainer, further enhancing her leadership and mentorship skills. Her dedication to education and professional development led her to become Deputy Education Manager for the service's Education Faculty in November 2022.  Letitia also contributes significantly to the broader mammography profession. She serves as regional Professional Clinical Advisor for the NHS England Quality Assurance Service. Her extensive experience and commitment to quality standards makes her a trusted leader in the field of breast screening and mammography education.

JAMES BLACKWOOD

JD is a healthcare AI expert who, over the last 5 years, has delivered circa 70 AI projects throughout the UK. This includes leading the UK’s largest AI healthcare research programme; evaluating the use of AI in radiology, pathology and dermatology; building AI for mental health; and implementing AI to support anticipatory care.  He is the AI Advisor to NHS Lothian,. Innovation Fellow at University of St Andrews, Chief Technology Officer for several health technology start-ups, a course co-lead at the University of Edinburgh and an independent consultant working with teams across the UK.  He was previously Healthcare AI Lead for the Scottish Government, and AI Strategy & Portfolio Lead for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.

CLINTON BOYD

Dr Clinton Boyd is a consultant pathologist and Clinical Director of Cellular Pathology at Belfast Health and Social Care Trust, reporting breast and thoracic pathology. He is a founder member and honorary secretary of the Association of Breast Pathology. He has recently been part of a team that successfully introduced digital pathology reporting to a busy cellular pathology lab. He chairs the nonoperative guidelines subgroup of the National Coordinating Committee for Breast Pathology.

ROISIN BRADLEY

Roisin Bradley has been a Consultant Radiologist and Director of Breast Screening for North Yorkshire since 2018.

PAOLA CLAUSER

Assoc. Prof. Paola Clauser, MD, PD, PhD, is a consultant radiologist at the Department of Biomedical Imaging and Image-guided Therapy of the Medical University of Vienna. After successfully completing her medical studies at the University of Udine in 2009, she started her residency in Diagnostic Radiology in Udine. During her residency, she very soon started participating in national and international research projects. Since 2015 she is working, first as a researcher and afterwards as consultant, at the Medical University of Vienna. She has been involved in several projects focused on the diagnosis of breast cancer, as well as the improvement of contrast enhanced MRI acquisition and interpretation in clinical practice. She is currently Editor in Chief of Insights into Imaging. She is co-founder and former chair of the young radiologists committee of the European Society of Breast Imaging (EUSOBI). She has authored or co-authored more than 100 publications in peer-reviewed journals, and two book chapters.

JONATHAN COLE

Jonathan is a physicist at the Royal Free hospital and provides Medical Physics Expert support to a range of departments, including multiple breast screening services. As part of this role Jonathan developed and supports a web-based user QC platform for all modalities, including mammography tests following NHSBSP reports 1303 and 1406.

CHARLOTTE COLES

Charlotte Coles is Professor of Breast Cancer Clinical Oncology: Deputy Head of Department of Oncology, University of Cambridge; and Director of CRUK RadNet Cambridge. She leads practice-changing breast radiotherapy trials, has influenced international hypofractionation policy and addressed global health, gender, and equity challenges as Chair of the Lancet Breast Cancer Commission. Charlotte led the IMPORT Low and High trials that proved efficacy and safety of partial breast radiotherapy and simultaneous integrated boost respectively. These trials informed NICE and international guidelines. She leads PRIMETIME: biomarker-directed omission of breast radiotherapy; and PARABLE, the first UK breast proton beam therapy trial. Charlotte facilitated international breast radiotherapy guidelines during COVID-19 pandemic and co-led UK and European Breast Radiotherapy Consensuses. She was awarded a NIHR Research Professorship and leads the Cancer Research UK Cambridge Radiation Research Centre of Excellence. In 2023, she was elected to the Academy of Medical Sciences and awarded the Royal College of Radiologist’s Gold Medal. Charlotte is passionate about implementing patient-centred research through team science and nurturing the next generation of researchers.

BEN COLLINS

Ben Collins graduated in Chemistry and started his career as a paint scientist.  Representing his organisation at a careers fair, he got chatting to the team on the Army stand, and felt that it looked a lot more fun.  He was correct.  He served for 6 years, including as Squadron Operations Officer in Iraq, before leaving as a Captain.  He subsequently worked as a project manager at the Environment Agency delivering flood risk management schemes, before becoming Senior Project Manager for Europe in a management consultancy to the motor industry.  Once again stymied with a dull job, he saw an opportunity in the NHS - an organisation he had wanted to join for some years – and joined Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust.  His mother is waiting for him to settle down and pick a career.  Since joining BHT he has worked as Programme Director, Head of Private Patients, Deputy Divisional Director of Integrated Elderly and Community Care, Deputy Divisional Director of Integrated Medicine and General Manager of Emergency and Acute Medicine, and Cancer Transformation Manager before taking up his current role in Strategic Delivery.  He is also co-chair of the ‘1 in 4’ Staff Mental Health Network – thought to be the only staff mental health network at any acute Trust but he would be delighted to be wrong about that. He is fascinated by how we use our NHS resources to get the best outcomes for patients, and frustrated by health inequality.  He attended Michael Porter and Elizabeth Teisberg’s Value Based Healthcare course at Harvard Business School, and now works as Associate Director of Strategic Delivery helping operational teams with their long-term planning, and working closely with system partners to help keep our population healthy.  He loves working for the NHS.

SARAH COOPE

Sarah qualified as a doctor in 1998 and has experience in clinical, facilitation, mediation, appraisal, coaching and leadership roles in healthcare; working with clinicians and managers in a variety of healthcare settings, to identify the root cause of issues & challenges faced. She worked as a GP for 20yrs and gained a wide range of skills and competencies through creating and delivering professional skills training, mainly for doctors. She developed a special interest in reducing medicolegal and burnout risk through optimising clinician communication & interpersonal skills, mindset tools and application to real-life. 

Sarah has held leadership roles, regionally and nationally, including as PCN Clinical Director, in a medical defence setting, NHS Resolution as Head of Case Advice and at one of the Royal Colleges as Director of Education.

DI DALGLIESH

Dr Dalgliesh graduated from the University of Cape Town, South Africa in 1989. She was a junior doctor in Paris for 18 months and then moved to the UK. She qualified and worked as a GP before training to be a Breast Clinician. She currently works as a Breast Clinician at Avon Breast Screening (Bristol) and is Clinical Lead for Breast Radiology at the Royal United Hospital (Bath). She was clinical lead for the Family History Breast Service for 25 years. National initiatives include two terms as Vice President of the Association of Breast Clinicians and she has sat on the oversight board for the Credential in Breast Disease Management for breast clinicians since its inception in 2018.

RAJIV DAVE

Mr Rajiv V Dave is a Consultant Oncoplastic Breast and Endocrine Surgeon, based at the Nightingale Breast Centre, at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. His specialist surgical training includes a Research Fellowship awarded the Patey Prize by the Society of Academic and Research Surgery, a prestigious TIG Oncoplastic Fellowship in Manchester, and an International Fellowship in Breast, Endocrine and Melanoma in Melbourne, Australia. He has a strong academic interest and portfolio, publishing in high impact-factor peer-reviewed journals and lay-terminology patient information. He has successfully led and delivered large national collaborative studies which have informed and impacted clinical practice, and has been awarded prestigious research grants. This includes the B-MaP-C study (breast cancer management pathways during the COVID-19 pandemic) and the IBRAnet Localisation Device portfolio, and is the current clinical co-lead of the ABS ASPIRE (breast pain pathway) service evaluation. He has a growing Global Health portfolio, including an MSc in Global health Leadership, and co-leads the Kenya UK Breast Cancer Alliance, and is engaged in development projects with Ghana, Zambia and Uganda. He serves in several national and international clinical leadership roles, including the Association of Breast Surgery Academic and Research Committee, and International Committee.

HEIDI DOUGLAS

Heidi Douglas is a Consultant in Public Health and is currently Associate Director of Public Health in NHS Tayside. Heidi, Chairs both the Scottish Cervical and Breast Screening Programme Boards and is a member of the Adult Reference Group which provides advice to the UK National Screening Committee on adult screening programmes. Heidi completed her public health training in the North East of England, where she was an External Quality Assurance Chair for National Screening Programmes.

JANET DUNN

Janet Dunn is Professor of Clinical Trials and Head of Cancer trials at Warwick Clinical Trials Unit. She has an active interest in ethnicity, diversity and equality as reported in clinical trials.

EAMONN DUNNE

Eamonn works at Thomas Pocklington Trust, a leading advocate of equality for blind and partially sighted people and primarily staffed by people who are blind or partially sighted. With a background in community development and social enterprise, Eamonn is now dedicated to tackling inequities in health and care services across the UK. He believes that putting lived experience at the heart of the design and delivery of those services is vital to success.

JOLEEN KIRSTY EDEN

Joleen Kirsty Eden is a Consultant Radiographer in Breast Imaging, driven by a strong passion for clinical research and education in advanced practice. Qualified in 2008, she completed her MSc in 2018 and has since made significant contributions to the field. Her research has been published twice in the British Journal of Radiology, including pioneering work on advanced practitioners delivering biopsy results in the NHS Breast Screening Programme. She was awarded the prestigious Beth Whitaker Prize for her research on the impact of Macrolane™ injections on breast cancer diagnosis, influencing MHRA policy. Joleen is a lecturer and assessor at the University of Salford’s School of Radiography and an honorary lecturer at UCLan’s School of Medicine. She serves as an assessor for the College of Radiographers and a subject matter expert for a Northwest radiography workforce project commissioned by Health Education England. Additionally, she contributes as a clinical expert for the Greater Manchester Cancer Network’s breast workforce projects. Her professional affiliations include serving as a council member for the Manchester Medical Society’s Imaging Section and as a committee member for the Breast Imaging Special Interest Group (SoR). She is also a reviewer for Radiography and Clinical Radiology journals and a member of the British Society of Breast Radiology.

HOLLY ELBERT

Holly is a Principal Clinical Scientist in MRI and ultrasound physics working in Bristol. Alongside her more routine activities, she has been involved in several breast MRI research projects with North Bristol Trust, and provides teaching on MRI and ultrasound to a wide variety of audiences. She is also the current secretary of the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine's MR Special Interest Group.

KAROLINE FREEMAN

Dr Karoline Freeman is an Associate Professor at the University of Warwick. Karoline’s research focuses on evidence synthesis for policy using systematic review methodology, routine data and clinical trials. Karoline graduated from the University of Birmingham with a BSc Hons in Biological Sciences and completed an MSc in Evidence Based Health Care and Health Technology Assessment at Birmingham University. Karoline won an NIHR doctoral fellowship to undertake a PhD in Health Sciences at the University of Warwick. In 2022 she undertook an NIHR Development and Skills Enhancement Fellowship in Health Data Science with a focus on causal inference methods for the analysis of observational data. Karoline led the analysis of the English Sloane atypia cohort data with outcomes informing recommendations on the management of women with screen detected atypia and is a co-applicant on the NIHR funded EDITH trial evaluating the use of AI in the UK breast screening programme. Karoline is a member of the NHS Breast Screening Programme Research, Innovation and Development Advisory Committee.

TORAL GATHANI

Toral Gathani is an Associate Professor in the Cancer Epidemiology Unit (CEU) at Oxford Population Health. She is a Consultant Breast Surgeon at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and the clinical lead for Thames Valley Cancer Alliance Clinical Advisory Group for breast cancer. She was appointed Senior Research Fellow at Green Templeton College in 2019. Her main research interests are in the intersection of ethnicity and breast cancer, the role of health systems in early cancer detection and diagnosis, and of breast cancer as a global health challenge. She is the Principal Investigator for a Cancer Research UK funded project on the Associations of Ethnicity and Breast Cancer. The Royal College of Surgeons of England awarded her a prestigious Hunterian Lecture, and courtesy title of Hunterian Professor 2022, for her work in this area. She is the Chief Investigator of the AgeX Trial assessing the benefits and risks of extending the age range for routine screening invitations. Nationally, she is the co-chair for the Research and Innovation Development Advisory Committee (RIDAC) for the NHS Breast Screening Programme in England. She is a member of the UK Breast Cancer Clinical Studies Group, the Academic and Research Committee for the Association of Breast Surgery, and the Audit Advisory Committee for the National Audit of Primary Breast Cancer.

FIONA GILBERT

Professor Fiona Gilbert – FRCR, FRCPS, FRCP, FACR, FRSE, FMedSci, Department of Radiology, University of Cambridge. As an academic radiologist she evaluates new imaging technology and how this impacts on patients health. Her particular clinical expertise is breast cancer. She is currently working on early cancer detection, biomarkers to predict cancer and response to neoadjuvant therapy, novel imaging techniques such as sodium imaging with MRI. She is working on Artificial Intelligence and the impact on radiology services and patient care. She has worked in developing AI algorithms with academic groups and commercial companies, is currently testing new research and commercial AI tools. She is Lead advisor for Clinical Radiology for the Royal College of Radiologists. She is a regular speaker at international Radiology conferences including RSNA in Chicago and ECR in Vienna. She is a member of the NIHR imaging science group and immediate past President of the European Society of Breast Imaging. She has Honorary membership of Radiological Society of North America, Honorary fellowship of the American College of Radiologists, Gold Medal from the European Society of Radiology, fellowship of the Royal Society of Edinburgh and fellowship of the Academy of Medical Sciences.

AMIT GOYAL

Amit Goyal is a Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon & Associate Professor, Clinical Lead for Breast Surgery at UHDB. His research is focussed on axillary management and breast reconstruction. His research includes the UK ALMANAC trial and NEW START sentinel node biopsy training program. He is the Chief Investigator of POSNOC and ATNEC axillary management trials and BIOSYM mesh breast reconstruction trial.

GRAINNE HARTE

Grainne Harte is a Diagnostic Radiographer working as a Governance & Quality Service Manager within the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust. Grainne is highly experienced in developing and implementing robust governance frameworks across healthcare services. She led Northern Ireland’s largest NHS Trust through its initial accreditation with the Quality Standard for Imaging (QSI) in 2021, and is a Technical Assessor for QSI with the UK Accreditation Service. Grainne’s career has evolved over the last 20 years intertwining Governance and Education: she worked as Practice Educator in the Royal Victoria Hospital for over 10 years, before expanding into Governance where her positions have included QSI Lead, Imaging Governance & Quality Lead, and currently Interim Governance & Quality Service Manager for 11 services across the Trust. Grainne has delivered on numerous successful projects relating to patient safety, risk management and compliance. She is passionate about developing capability, educating others, and establishing frameworks and systems that are safe, transparent and accountable. Development and implementation of Patient Group Directions is one such project which has significantly improved service efficacy and patient safety.

MAYADA HAYDAR

Before moving to the UK, Mayada was a Radiologist with a special interest in breast Radiology. She was in the first cohort to enter the three-year training programme; The Credential in Breast Disease and Management For Beast Clinicians created by RCR. She became a qualified breast clinician in 2022. Then worked as a breast clinician in Breast Radiology and Family history clinics prevention at Wythenshawe Hospital, Manchester University Foundation Trust. Then worked at East Cheshire hospitals as Specialist Breast Radiologist.

LYNDSAY KINNEAR

Lyndsay completed her radiography training in 1997 and worked as a diagnostic radiographer before becoming an application specialist for a medical imaging company. Lyndsay returned to clinical practice in 2014, completing her Postgraduate Certificate in Mammography and taking up the position of Training & Education lead at the Nightingale Centre in 2016.  Since joining the Nightingale Centre, she has completed a Postgraduate Certificate in teaching and learning in higher and professional education and a Masters in Advanced Medical Imaging. Lyndsay has a keen interest in clinical mammography education and is the Chair of the Mammography Associate Trailblazer group.

CONNIE LEHMAN

Constance “Connie” Lehman, MD PHD is Professor of Radiology at Harvard Medical School, breast imaging specialist, Founder and co-Director of the Breast Imaging Research Center at the Massachusetts General Brigham. Collectively, her experiences support methods to guide equitable, accurate, cost effective and value-based implementation of imaging tools to improve patient outcomes.

ELIZABETH LOFTUS

Libby is a Trainee Consultant Radiographer, who has worked at Barts Health NHS Trust since 2022. She is passionate about innovative medical techniques in breast and enjoys being part of a workplace where there is always exciting research to get involved in. Libby thrives in an environment that embraces new technologies and approaches to patient care, supported by a wonderful team that encourages her to contribute and grow. Outside of work, Libby enjoys walking her demanding greyhound and exploring new places.

ANNEKE LUCASSEN

Anneke trained in Medicine and specialised in Clinical Genetics. After a DPhil (1994) identifying genetic factors in diabetes, she set up an interdisciplinary research programme exploring the ethical, legal and social aspects of integrating advances in genetics (and other forms of big data) into healthcare and society. She is consultant in the Oxford Clinical Genetics Service

ALISTAIR MACKENZIE

Alistair Mackenzie has worked in radiological physics for 30 years, gaining a wide experience in the practical testing of all types of X-ray imaging equipment. He worked in KCARE for 9 years and undertook in-depth evaluations of digital imaging systems, during which he became an international expert in quantitative analysis of digital images. Currently, he is the head of NCCPM and providing advice the NHS breast screening programme on their x-ray equipment and technological developments. Alistair has co-authored over 80 publications and over 150 reports for KCARE and NCCPM. He has presented proffered and invited papers many times at international conferences. Alistair is involved in the NCCPM research into artificial intelligence and the effect of image quality of digital mammography systems on cancer detection.

GILES MASKELL

Dr Giles Maskell is a consultant radiologist based at the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro, UK, since 1991. From 2013 to 2016 he was President of the Royal College of Radiologists. He has lectured widely and written extensively on aspects of radiological practice. He has a particular interest in radiological error – the perceptual, cognitive and cultural reasons behind it and strategies for preventing or reducing it – and in the development and maintenance of a healthy culture in radiology departments. He is clinical lead for the Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT) radiology workstream.

ALICE MOODY

After a career break, Alice found her way back to medicine by becoming a Breast Clinician in 2016. She completed her PGDip in Breast Evaluation in 2020 and works in Bristol in both the symptomatic and screening breast services. She leads for both of the Family History and Very High Risk services as well as educational co-lead for the department. She joined the ABC committee in 2024 and is excited to advocate for their members - a group of highly specialised and talented individuals who should be celebrated for their contribution to breast care nationally.

IVY OKEREKE

Ivy Okereke is the Director of Breast Screening and a Consultant Radiographer in Breast Imaging at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. Her career reflects a comprehensive engagement with clinical, leadership, and education within breast imaging and radiography. Her past roles include Professional and Clinical Advisor (PCA) for Breast Radiography (South England) and Superintendent Radiographer. Ivy is a Guest Lecturer at the Jarvis Educational Centre and a Committee Member and AI Champion for the Breast Imaging Special Interest Group (SIG). She is currently undertaking a PhD with the University of Salford and holds an MSc in Breast Imaging, alongside several postgraduate certifications in the Breast Imaging.

TRACY O'REGAN

Tracy worked as a diagnostic radiographer in the NHS for 23 years prior to commencing her role of professional officer for clinical imaging and research at the society and college of radiographers (SCoR). Tracy represents her organisation on a range of multidisciplinary working parties and supports SCoR advisory groups and networks related to digital, informatics & artificial intelligence, consultant level practice, and research. She has a keen interest in the clinical uses of emerging technologies, serves as a steering committee member for the Science and Technology Facilities Council Early Cancer Diagnosis and Network, and champions SCoR work to reduce inequalities in health.

BELINDA PEARCE

Belinda Pearce is an Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon at University Hospitals Dorset based across both Poole and Bournemouth hospitals. She completed her surgical training in this region and was awarded a national TIG fellowship to complete her oncoplastic training at Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth. She is a keen trainer and is passionate about improving services and getting the best results for her patients. 

SHELLEY POTTER

Shelley Potter is Professor of Surgical Oncology at Bristol Medical School and Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon at North Bristol NHS Trust. She attended Bristol Medical School and completed Basic Surgical Training in Bristol before completing a PhD exploring the feasibility of clinical trials in breast reconstruction.  She completed her Higher Surgical Training as an Academic Clinical Lecturer in the Severn Deanery before being awarded a highly prestigious National Training Interface Group Oncoplastic Breast Surgery Fellowship in Liverpool.  She returned to Bristol as an NIHR Clinician Scientist and Consultant Senior Lecturer in August 2017 and became a Professor in August 2023.Her research focuses on improving outcomes for women undergoing breast cancer surgery through the design and delivery of high-quality, patient-centred collaborative research. As a trainee and Chair of the Mammary Fold Academic and Research Collaborative (MFAC), she led several large-scale national collaborative breast surgery projects including iBRA, iBRA-2 and TeaM. These studies collectively recruited over 5,000 patients from over 80 centres across the UK and helped to establish an evidence base to support the practice of oncoplastic and reconstructive surgery. She is currently Chief Investigator for the Best-BRA, Brighter, ANTHEM and Pre-BRA studies. More recently, she had developed an interest in breast cancer treatment de-escalation studies and is Chief Investigator for the NIHR HTA funded TADPOLE study which aims to compare targeted axillary dissection and axillary node clearance in patients with node positive breast cancer having primary surgery. She also co-led the recent BIG-NCTN PRECEDENT project which aimed to improve reporting of locoregional therapy in neoadjuvant systemic therapy trials by developing a core outcome set. Her national roles include Royal College of Surgeons of England Surgical Specialty Lead in Breast Surgery and Secretary to the British Breast Group.

DAN REA

Daniel Rea has been Professor of Medical Oncology since 2017. He has worked in Birmingham since 1996 he is the deputy director of the CR-UK Clinical trials unit at University of Birmingham with responsibility of the Adult cancer trials Portfolio Clinical work is based at primarily University Hospital Birmingham where he leads the medical oncology breast Service for the largest cancer centre in the West Midlands. He specialises exclusively in breast cancer and  treats early and advanced breast cancer patients. His own research interests are in the treatment of early breast cancer and is the Chief Investigator for a number of large phase 3 studies which all include strong translational components.  He also has a specialist interest in Inflammatory breast cancer. Professor Rea is a past Chair of the NCRI Breast Group and sits on the executive steering committee of the UK Breast Group. Has supported the growth in surgical research in breast cancer and the inclusion of junior doctors and other heath care professionals in breast cancer research.

ANDREA ROCKALL

Professor Rockall completed radiology training at UCLH.   Following appointments at Barts in 2000 and Royal Marsden in 2016, she was appointed as Clinical Chair in Radiology at Imperial College London in 2018.  Main areas of interest are genito-urinary cancer imaging, machine learning and radiomics, and sustainable imaging.

CLÁUDIA SÁ DOS REIS

Professor Dr Cláudia Sá dos Reis is an academic and researcher in the field of medical imaging and radiation therapy. She currently serves as a Professor at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Western Switzerland (HESAV/HES-SO) in Lausanne, Switzerland, where she is also the Dean of the Radiologic Medical Imaging Technology Bachelor's program. Professor Dr Sá dos Reis earned her Bachelor of Science (Hons.) degree in Radiography from the Lisbon School of Health Technology (ESTeSL/IPL). She further advanced her education with a Master of Science and a Ph.D. in the field of mammography. Her research expertise encompasses mammography, patient-centered care, quality control, radiation protection, image quality and education in radiography.

SARAH SAVARIDAS

Sarah is a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Dundee where she completed her doctorate on Contrast Enhanced Mammography. She sits on the UK Breast Cancer Clinical Studies Group and is a committee member of the Scottish Breast Radiology Forum. Sarah is committed to promoting research and development in Scotland. Sarah holds an honorary radiology consultant post with NHS Tayside where she is Clinical Lead for Breast Imaging and Clinical Director of the East of Scotland breast screening service. Her primary research interests are novel imaging techniques applied to NHS practice and equality of access to screening and surveillance.

BEV SNAITH

Bev has been at the forefront of radiography role development over the last 3 decades. She was appointed one of the first consultant radiographers in the UK 20 years ago and she has subsequently led the development of radiographer roles at a local, regional and national level. In 2017 she took up a joint appointment between the NHS and the University of Bradford as the first ever Clinical Professor of Radiography. This combines academic and research leadership together with ongoing clinical practice. She has led the development of the first accredited postgraduate radiography advanced practice programme. With over 100 peer review publications and multiple research grants her work focusses on role and service redesign.

FREDRICK STRAND

Fredrik Strand is a Swedish breast radiologist and associate professor at Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm. He holds MD, PhD and MSc(Eng) degrees. He is head of the research and education committee at the Swedish society of breast imaging. Fredrik is the principal investigator of two AI-based clinical trials: ScreenTrustCAD and ScreenTrustMRI. His research evolves around exploring AI on multimodal radiology images - for early detection and for therapy choice and prognosis. Fredrik and his team curate high-quality datasets and radiologist annotations to develop new AI models for breast imaging models, performing reader studies and external validations. He leads the Swedish multicenter VAI-B, Validation platform for AI in Breast imaging, which is a platform hosting images from various clinical centers linked to clinical outcomes. Fredrik is engaged in two EU-funded projects, RadioVal and EUCAIM; and he is also involved in the EUCanScreen initiative. Fredrik's long-term aim is to explore the full power of AI on multi-modal images, combined with the expertise of medical professionals, to improve outcomes for women with breast cancer.

RUTH STRUDWICK

Ruth is Head of Allied Health Professions and Professor in Diagnostic Radiography in the School of Allied Health Sciences at the University of Suffolk. Ruth is a Diagnostic Radiographer by background. She has been a Lecturer since 2003, and before that worked as Clinical Lecturer at The Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust and as a Diagnostic Radiographer at The Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust. Ruth completed her professional doctorate in 2011 entitled 'An ethnographic study of the culture in a Diagnostic Imaging Department'. She continues to be research active and her funded research focuses on radiography professional practice and education, and on service evaluation.

TAMARA SUARIS

Dr Suaris is a  breast radiology consultant radiologist based at St Bartholomew's Hospital, Barts Health NHS Trust, London leading the breast imaging team across the network of hospitals. She specializes in breast intervention and new techniques, and is committed to teaching and training breast intervention and has established successful biopsy workshop aimed at supporting all breast imagers who perform interventional procedures.

RACHEL SUN

Rachel is a Clinical Specialist with an MSc in breast imaging. Rachel has worked at the Nottingham Breast Institute for 15 years having gained advanced practice experience across all aspects of breast imaging.

SIAN TAYLOR-PHILLIPS

Sian Taylor-Phillips is Professor of Population Health at Warwick Medical School, University of Warwick, specialising in evaluation of medical tests and screening programmes. She leads Warwick Screening, a team of researchers which synthesises evidence for national policy-makers, and undertakes primary research across several screening programmes. She also has a particular interest in evaluating the benefits and harms of different versions of breast cancer screening and holds several grants in this area.Professor Taylor-Phillips is one of six research leaders who received a prestigious NIHR Research Professorship in 2023, a scheme which funds researchers to promote the effective translation of research and aims to strengthen research leadership at the highest academic levels.In addition, Professor Taylor-Phillips is a member of the UK National Screening Committee, and provides expertise to help shape the committee’s recommendations to government.

JO TRASK

Jo Trask, Head of Health Inequalities and patient engagement at Cheshire and Merseyside Cancer Alliance is a dynamic and engaging speaker and trainer with over 30 years of experience in inequity. Jo specialises in development of staff to tackle health inequalities, cancer pathways and inequity, and involving diverse patient representation in all work. With a background in the third sector and NHS, supporting people we hear from least, Jo has helped a wide range of organisations to embrace the challenge of tackling health inequality, encouraging active approaches across systems. Jo works widely across the UK to support cancer services working towards equity.

MATTHEW WALLIS

Matthew moved to Cambridge in 2007 after 19 years as Director of the Warwickshire Solihull and Coventry Breast Screening Service. President EUSOBI 2008-2010.His major research interest is optimisation of all stages of the breast cancer pathway from mammographic image production and display to trials to investigate limiting the side effects of current treatment of lower risk disease. His 149 peer reviewed publications has informed standard setting in image quality, radiology and surgery across the world. He has a long-standing interest in DCIS and is the Chief Investigator of Low RIsk DCIS trial.

LOUISE WILKINSON

Dr Louise Wilkinson is an experienced breast radiologist who has worked in both screening and symptomatic radiology for many years.  She has worked in peer review of breast screening programmes and has an interest in a range of topics including diagnostic pathways, analysing mammograms and clinical implementation of artificial intelligence in breast screening.  She enjoys teaching and supporting radiologists in training to develop  their skills in breast radiology.
